It is with great pride that we announce that our talented Larissa Iapichino has officially joined the Fiamme Oro della Polizia di Stato. The Italian overall and promising Italian indoor record holder in the long jump with 6.97m and vice European indoor champion 2023, is now a State Police trainee.

Larissa follows in the footsteps of her father Gianni Iapichino, a former Fiamme Oro athlete and Italian pole vault record holder, who is currently her coach. A return to her roots for the young law student, who comments on this new adventure as follows: “I am very proud to be joining the Fiamme Oro Sports Group, a return to my roots that is a bit of a comeback. I would like to thank all the staff, my new colleagues and the Technical Director Sergio Baldo, who made me feel loved and supported from the start, like in a real family. I hope to bring much satisfaction in this new sporting career to the Police, jumping farther and farther”.

Larissa will not be alone in this new challenge. Accompanying her are two other promising young Italian athletes: Emily Conte, a 57.11 metre discus thrower, and Asia Tavernini, a 1.88 metre high hurdler. All three are winners, in their respective specialities, of the Polizia di Stato competition for athletes, announced on 26 October 2023.

The JUMP team and the Fiamme Oro staff wish Larissa a future full of success and satisfaction, both on the track and in her new career with the State Police.
