Larissa Iapichino kicked off the 2026 indoor season in the best possible way, winning the long jump at the Memorial Alessio Giovannini in Ancona with an excellent 6.93 meters. The European indoor champion achieved the winning mark on her very first jump, recording the world’s best performance of the year and her best seasonal debut ever, just four centimeters short of her indoor personal best.
With this performance, the Italian athlete comfortably secured the qualifying standard for the World Indoor Championships in Torun (6.75) at her first attempt of the season.
